Some differences can be found in the rhetorical patterns of Chinese and English editorial texts. In the Lead part, English editorials place the argument statement at the beginning more often, whereas Chinese editorials are more likely to foreshadow the topic by stating the importance or situations. In the Follow part, English editorials seem to develop linearly, while more "Turns" tend to appear in the Chinese editorials. Moreover, the tone and language in the Valuate part tend to be much stronger in Chinese editorials than in English editorials.
