The subjects of the study were normal infants born in Tri-Service General Hospital to healthy mothers by normal delivery. It included 63 males and 57 females. The body weight ranged from 2,500 gm to 4,000 gm. The categories consisted of (1) within 24 hours of life (2) 24-48 hours of life (3) 48-72 hours of life.
